KALKOTE

Caliper coating process engineered to prevent most disc brake caliper problems. KALKOTE™ consists of three specially formulated rust retardant materials to produce a barrier to moisture. This barrier is filled with synthetic based lubricants to produce a RUST RESISTANT SHIELD over the complete unit.

The major problem with the disc brake design is the exposure to the elements. Mother Nature's Law rules in these applications. Rust will be created on any steel or cast part when exposed to the atmosphere and humidity. The constant exposure to man made elements - road salts and chemicals - put on the road to clean ice and snow accelerate the rust process. The end result is failure of the caliper to properly funchion.

The most common result seen is rapid inboard pad wear caused by improper movement of the piston or the caliper through the bracket and mounting. The improper movement is caused by rust build up.

KALKOTE™ was engineered to give a good rust retardant and lubricity to provide for smooth operation of the caliper and piston.
